Stainless, brass or black micarta for chef and paring knife set?

So I'm making a couple of matched sets of 8" chef and 3" paring knives. One set as a gift and one for myself.

I've got two sets of dyed burl wood in blue and yellow.

I probably can't go wrong but what should I do for bolsters?

Brass looks great shined up but would it be too much yellow with the already yellow scales? Or would it look cheesy with the blue?

I've also thought of using the wood as bolsters with a couple liners and then just paper micarta scales.

Just thinking things over as I wait for blades to come back from HT.

I think stainless for the blue material, and black G10 or micarta for the light wood. Nickel silver would also look nice with the dark wood.

The brass doesn't match either color you have real well in my opinion. Stainless would look good on the blue and the black would look good on the other. You could match your pins also. Black pins with the black bolster and stainless with the other. I think it would look good.

Thanks guys. Finishing the handles is my favorite part. Like a big reveal that takes me an hour or two!
