Stainless carved slip joint

Blade and back spring are ATS-34
Scales and pins are 308 stainless
Back is flush in all positions
Pull to me is medium blade snaps nicely into all positions
Overall length is 6 ½” Closed 3 ½” Blade thickness 3/32” Overall thickness 3/8”
Flats of blade are hand finished to 2000grit. Bevels are hand finished to 400 grit
Weight is 2.85 oz.
Scales are relived
Scales have two types of hammer finish and brushed area
The pivot pin is a little visible on this one (as you can see in the picture). Doing a hammered finish over the pivot and not having the knife lock up is proving to be very challenging.
$325
Thanks for looking

Hi Mark. A lot of work on the fine knife you have here !! Perhaps try the stippling thing to get over your problem. Use a rotary tool with a 3/32" carbide ball. I will watch for more of your work with or without the texturing. Frank

I appreciate the feed back. My wife thinks I am crazy but I am thinking of taking another shot at the pivot pin. I may have to do stippling over the pin as you suggest Frank. The finish in that area is actually done with a punch that leaves an elongated impression so stippling would have to be done with a small ball burr or maybe a modified stone setting burr.

FWIW, Mark is first and foremost a jeweler, and it certainly shows in his work. I have the first knife he sold and am still amazed at the workmanship involved.

This knife is sold. Thank you Mr. Niro

Thank you 300LW for the endorsement. It makes me happy to know you are still enjoying your knife.

I can't believe this one was not picked up as soon as it was listed. This is a true art piece !!! Did the low price fool you ? I sure am pleased I went back to have another look at it just for appreciation sake and that I had a sale on one of mine. I have several other maker's knives but they were all given me for my efforts to help these makers. This is the first maker knife I have purchased. Frank

Wow Frank that's a pretty great endorsement. I'll have to come by and see you're new knife when you receive it. :)

cheers
