I've been looking at building a variable speed grinder for a while now since mine runs a steady 4500 sfpm! I was messing around on Craigslist and ran across this one. It is a stainless KMg clone and is about 100-125lbs! This sucker is solid. The tooling arm and work rest are also stainless. It has a Leeson 1.5hp motor with and electric brake. This one has a 4 step pulley instead of a 3 step like the original. I am looking forward to using it once I replace the bracket for the shock tab. It's bent because it's too thin. Now I need another tooling arm for my contact wheel and a small wheel attachment. The best part is it was only $850! The last photo is what I am upgrading from!

I saw that in craigslist too :) glad someone who needs it got it!

If you've never picked up a KMG you'd be surprised ! If you count the motor and baseplate, my KMG is around 200lbs or more, add the tooling tree vfd and other tooling arms and I need a heavy duty table to hold the more than 300lbs of tool.

It's pretty solid anyways. I'm 6'4" and 250lbs and it wasn't light! I need to tap one hole for the shock mount and it will be up and running again?
