Hi All..im new to the knife making or right now knife finishing world..

so my question is this..

im looking at buying a couple knife blanks and putting scales and such on them for personal gifts for a couple of my buddies and was wondering about the 440C stainless steel thats heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of about 58C.will this blade hold a edge better than just the 440C stainless? is this hardened 440C a descent comparison to say 1095?
here is the blade blanks im looking st getting..i dont want to get a bunch of money tied up in these blades but i do want them to be a good blade for my friends to be able to use..

if you know of any where i can get a better blank for the same money or less please let me know and i will check them out...thank you gentlemen for your time!

440 used to be the steel of choice if you were working and didn't want rust. I believe there are 3 levels of 440 with C being the better. I will take an edge that is useful and resharpen easily. There are many more better steels available in stainless but the 440C will still work well as a good knife. I believe your buddies would be very pleased with your knife. There are other steels available, just google knife blanks. There are even a few in Elmax.
Good luck with your endeavor, enjoy the trip.
