Stampede for "Bush shoe" creates 100 new jobs

What do i know, Buffalo is really the armpit of the State, but they call us Western NY, so's I do have some nice cowboy hats:thumbup::D

Mark

Well i'll be durned..... the 3 of us are a stones throw away from each other.
We may have to try and plan out a small khuk khonvention.
I used to visit Buffalo now and again...the last time i visited a friend in college there and my vehicle and i almost became a block of ice.

Whatsit like there this new years in buffalo? today here near Ithaca...it's 11.7 degrees here, with the wind chill it's -6 degrees. Gotta be colder there...it almost always is.

Bush should have to walk back to Texas, with shoes being thrown at him by U.S. citizens the whole way. Cheney too. I have some 8lb sz15 combat boots tied together with the laces that I would drive 1000mi to lob at the Bastid.

I hear ya Mark.... I am orig. from the Great State of Orygun.... and it is sort of funny... I have always lived not too far from I-84.
The Western terminus of I-84 is in Portland, OR and I drove that interstate for many years on my way to work out there.
Now we live about 3 miles from I-84 here in Orange County Ny....same road, just the other end of it!!

The wind chill factor this AM was -15.3 here ... We live right in the Western corner of Orange County... next to where the N. tip of NJ and the Eastern edge of Pike County Pa and NY touch....

RE: A "Mini Khuk Conv"... sounds good....Hmmm I wonder where would be a Good location... maybe a Summer rendezvous?

Definitely something to think upon... We try to take a Lil Road trip each summer... we have a Small travel trailer that we use... Sounds like this could be fun ;)

Karda.... I love the 10ths You put into the measurements.....
"240.6 miles..... I'm near ithaca. 172.7 miles from your present location."

How did You figure the Exact distance?
Like a Google map or...

Plenty of time yet to work on details....Yet. Just a thought i had. I could probably come up with stuff to cut on, but what standing trees i have i'd like ta keep upright.... except for the blasted sumac's.

Hey Guys,
My Lady suggested Elmira, NY....
Hmm...
A Thought!!
Not too far to Watkins Glen Raceway, the National Warplane Museum, the Corning Glassworks....There are some Nice campgrounds there...

Or we are open for suggestions!
we have been wanting to check out the Herkimer Diamond Mines area around Herkimer, NY.....or there is the Ka-Bar factory The Cutco/KA-BAR Visitors Center is located in Olean, New York
Ideas?
Ed
PS: I am in NO WAY associated with, work for, or am asking anybody to purchase ANY of their products!
Only suggested as a place to see how cutlery is made in a factory setting.
(Something our kids might enjoy seeing, as well as myself!!)
;)

Great idea:thumbup:on mini-Summer-Khon:)

We're easy, Watkins Glen is one of our favorite campgrounds, the walk up the glen is beautiful. Anything can work for us though.

Geez, bizarre is the weather word. The last few days have been single digits and big snowfalls, yet just about a week ago we had 2 days in the 50's. I make it a point to grill something anyway as often as possible, I laugh in the face of swirling Olde Man Winter,(shh, just acting the winter tough guy, mostly I sit around and wonder why we aren't in Orlando eating mouse eared shaped ice cream bars;) )

Have a good day, stay warm and be as well fed as a hobbit

Mark

Works for me.... Either way.
I'm within an hour of both places.
gotta work on the wife about the camping part though.

Hey Mark and Karda... How is the idea of a Mini-Summer-Khon still "sitting" with You and Yours?

We are still a-looking and planning for the warm weather drive-a-bout...
Maybe a Central location.... sort of a "even-steven" drive mileage-wise....
Lets kick it around!!

Seeing as how I'm located roughly 1/2 way between you both and less than an hour from Watkins Glen i figured that we could do the glen or thereabouts. My wife has a hard time traveling to locations that are more than a hour or so away and does'nt camp too well due to physical reasons.
I have her mostly talked into letting us do a shindig here, if that's what you guys would like to do, i just have to be forewarned enough to have time to build a firepit and gather some things to chop and she'd rather not have a large crowd. We have Cayuga Lake, a few parks, state forests and several gorges/trails to walk here within about a 1/2 hours drive. Near Ithaca if you want to google it to see whats out there.
