Stamping on an angle?

I know, I know... "not another maker's mark question...". This one might be a little different though. I have no problem stamping my mark using a jig and a level surface on the steel. What I'm wondering though is whether it is possible to stamp on an angled surface. i.e. a tapered part of a knife where the two sides aren't parallel. You wouldn't be able to use the standard Everstamp jig and just holding it by hand is less than accurate. So is there a good way to do this, or is this why etching your mark is so popular? Thanks!

One way to stamp on a bevel is to make the table angled so it off sets and makes the surface to be stamped level.

I don't stamp on an angle usually but what I do is grind the side I want to stamp first that way you have a good flat surface on the other. I've never used a jig so I guess I've had plenty of practice stamping by hand and I always hot stamp deep when my blade is still pretty rough. Hope this helped.
