Stand alone vice?

just something to hold my blade for hand sanding. I don't have a shop with the new move or work bench, so looking for something either standing or sitting that's stable. Or if you know of a well made, us made vice I'm all ears, maybe I can track down a heavy stump!

Edit to add, looking for new, can't find older used vices for anything short of robbery prices. (Like anvils these days )
 
You might look at the Workmate type of benches. My buddy has one from '78 still uses it regularly.
Those things are great.
 
I use a home brew togi bench made from a weight bench. You sit straddle on it and I have a variety of clamps and jigs that slip in the square tubing on the end. The jigs/clamps hold blades for sanding and filing. Much easier on the back during long hours of sanding, and perfect alignment. Blade movement and re-positioning is also fast.
