stanley 99 as edc

Thats it pretty much. Although these last couple of days, I have been very lazy with my pocket knife edc, been mostly that husky lockback and i bought 200 razor blades for 9.99 so thats roughly 400 "knives" and I can get up to 5 days HARD USE per side on my good days per side, so roughly 2000 days which is 5.47 years worth of knife usage. Which comes out to $.20 a blade while I am at it. So....yeah... still doesn't beat a nice folder!!!

EDC, sure for years and years.

When I was an electrician and framer it was my 'EDC'
I always had one in my different tool pouches and tool belts.

If I was cutting roofing tar paper the blades would go faster.
But if it was tubing or marking, the blade could last much longer than a week.

The 2000 days are work days, so it about 8 years supply!!

No, I would not carry it in my back pocket....

I just got a new Stanley retractable utility knife at Walmart. Interesting thing about it is that while it is pretty much the same as a generic Stanley 99, it's about an inch shorter and only about 1/2" thick, making it more pocketable. Typical die cast handle construction, unpainted, with three position button, screw assembly and room for a couple extra blades inside. Model number is 10-016. I can't find it online anywhere. Perhaps it's a new model. Anyhow, it's inexpensive, pocketable and made in USA.
