Stanley plain steel hot roll?

Quick question I am new to knife making. I was at the local hardware store today and picked up a bar of Stanley plain steel hot roll. There were no numbers on it saying what kind of steel it is. Does anyone know what kind of steel this is? Is it suitable for a blade? If not I guess I can use it to practice on till my pieces of D2 get here. Thanks in advance.

No. It's mild steel.... either 1018 or A-36 (old bbq's and car bumpers)
