Does anyone have any experience with Star Sales Company, Inc.? A few days ago I ordered two Case slipjoints from them (yes, I know the steel is 420 - I buy them because they look pretty).

A package arrived at my house today from Star Sales, but only one knife was in the box. There was a note on the invoice which said the second knife was out of stock, and "please re-order in 2-3 weeks".

I have a big problem with this way of doing business. I was not told in advance that they were going to ship and charge me for only one knife. Their shipping charges are higher than other places I have been ordering from, and I do not think it worth it to order only
one rather inexpensive knife from them. I would have prefered that they hold the order until the second knife was available, but I was not offered that option.

I assume, as they have not stated otherwise, that if I re-order the second knife in 2-3 weeks, I will again be charged $7 shipping, so that I will have, without intending to, paid double shipping charges for what I expected to be one order.

Well, I don't want the second knife nor anything else Star Sales sells badly enough to pay double shipping, and accept their unauthorized separating of the knives into two orders.

Has anyone else had this happen when ordering from Star Sales? I will re-order the second knife only if they offer to drop the shipping charge.
 
I sent Star Sales and email yesterday but so far no reply. It doesn't matter. I went to a gun and knife shop today and found the same knife I had ordered. It cost a bit more (but not much more), however, I do not care to do business with a company that changes the terms of a sale without prior notification and approval of the customer. I'll look elsewhere for my next Case knife purchase.
