How fine is Starkie Blue compared to other compounds? I'm new to stropping...which means I'm new to knives. I've been hearing about green compounds and jewelers rouge. Can someone explain to me how these compare? Is there a standard for the color used and how Starkie Blue compares?

Thanks

Nope. Mystery compounds can be full of all kinds of stuff... Often times the people selling them have no clue whats in them. Can be any mixture of abrasives of any different sizes. They can also have any amount of abrasive in them. Some have very little abrasive. Some have a lot of abrasive.

Buy quality compounds designed for stropping. That lists the particle size and abrasive type right on the bottle.
