Prices include USPS Priority Mail insured shipping with delivery confirmation within the US. I will ship internationally, but international shipping charges must be paid in addition to the listed price of the knife, and international buyers must assume the risk of loss from possible seizure in customs.

For payment, I can take USPS money orders and PayPal (add 3% in the US to cover most of the fees, 4% outside of the US). I can also take a personal check if I know you. If you are paying by PayPal, I will only ship to a PayPal-confirmed address. I reserve the right to wait for payments to clear before I ship.

I'm interested in learning more about the Hinderer custom knife. I'm not familiar with the CTS-XHP steel. I thought the Gen III blades were 20cv steel. What's the pros/cons of this new steel? Your description mentions a 3 5/8" blade. Is this new or just a more accurate measurement of Hinderer's 3.5" XM? Is this knife newly purchased at Blades and how has it been used?

Thanks and great looking knife.

sdrmvy, up until Blade Show this year, the Gen III XM-18 blades were indeed 20C-V, but Rick introduced a couple of new high end stainless steels manufactured by Carpenter with some of his custom XM-18s at Blade a couple of weeks ago. According to Rick, the CTS-XHP performs a little bit like a stainless version of D2 that you can get a little harder (RC 61-62) without losing functional toughness and without the big globs of vanadium carbides that D2 is known for. He also told me that it is easier to sharpen in the field than 20C-V or D2 as well. I asked Rick if he had found any drawbacks to the new steel, and he said that he had not yet.

This is still the same size 3.5" XM-18, it's just that I measure the blade on every knife that I list for sale from tip to handle, and I've actually always gotten the 3.5" XM-18s at 3 5/8" for the blade.

The knife is newly purchased from Blade Show, and it has not been carried, used, or resharpened.

Josh K, PM sent.
