I got one today.
Executive summary: I'm quite sure my web pages of "favourite knives" will include this one after a couple of months use.
It's very sharp, actually shaving sharp in a way unusual for production knives. Normally if I test the sharp ones on the hairs on my arm, they take away a few hairs; This one cleared a patch totally smooth. (And this was after an afternoon's use in the garden...) Easily cuts 5 cm into a free floating office paper with a fast slash.
My "standard comment" about the placement of the serrations apply, for "push cutting" or whatever it's called in English, I'd like a few centimetres of plain edge near the handle.
It's very much the right size, weight and balance. Unusually, it's a Spyderco knife where the grip improves if I remove the clip. As I'm planning to carry it in a belt sheath, this isn't something which bothers me, and probably those with larger hands will find no reason to remove the clip at all.
Regarding hand size, there is actually one thing on it I'd like to modify, and that's to remove the "peak" on the lower side of the handle, as that's where my third finger ends up if the first is in the far forward position. Or perhaps not, as the grip with the second and third fingers on each side of the peak doesn't feel wrong at all.
It's easy to operate with gloves, which is important for any "outdoors" knife here (at least for me).
The grinding on the blade is a bit unusual too: If you draw you nail (or a towel after cleaning it) along the blade you can hear a slight rrrrr sound. My other Spydercos are much smoother. Does this have to do with the material requiring other processes?
In the garden, it worked very well on everything I could think of today.
After use on vegetable matter, "gunk" collects in the recessed writing on the blade and doesn't clean away easily by just wiping, washing works better.
Number? Seems I've gotten a lower number than others in this thread, but there must be almost a hundred with lower numbers still.
