Starmate: My Take (Long)

I've read positive comments about both the Starmate and the Military. Don't know which one to get though...
 
I am having a hard time finding anyone who carries the Starmate. I didn't see it in Skyland's catalog and I couldn't find it on Spyderco's homepage.

There are some Starmates (serial numbered) up for grabs over at http://www.bladeauctions.com and the starting price is low, so you might want to take your chances on bidding for one. There are 4 of them up for grabs. All are plain-edged. I'm not sure about the retail price, but the way things are going over at the auction, one might be able to get a Starmate at a pretty good price!

Hello,

As far as I am concern, I really like the handle's ergonomy.

At first glance I thought I will regret my Military handle but after using it a lot these last three days, I really enjoy it.
My grasp feels secure and confortable.
