Is there a serrated version of the Starmate? I have never seen a picture of a serrated one, and I have never heard of one either.
If there is, does anybody know if it is 50/50% or fully serrated? (Is there a picture somewhere on the net?)

By the way, how about availability? Have they reached the dealers yet?

Thank you
Costas

They come in 50/50 and plain edge. I have one of each. I really like the plain edge alot better.

I've got a 50/50 Starmate and I love it! It's acutally a 60/40 split with just the right amount of both types of edge. There is no fully serrated version available (probably never will be. About a year ago I pestered Spyderco incecently about at least producing a combo Starmate until they phoned me up and read a letter Sal had written to me explianing their rationale for producing the edge formats they do-wonderful customer service! They would do a combo, but unless there was a really strong demand, they wouldn't do a full serrated.) As for availiblity, they should be out-I got mine 3 or 4 months ago (#454). Hope this helps.

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

The first one I received was the part serrated model #336, However since I've aquired a plain edged model #745 and I think overall I like it better.I've just ordered black clips for both from Charlie at S.F.O. because I like to alternate using them.
