Starmate variations?

Will we be able to get a Starmate with an aluminum handle in the future? The old C15 Terzuola started with the aluminum and then went on to G-10, so maybe Spyderco could do the opposite with the new Starmate?

Good point! I'll take one (or maybe two: one plain, one part.serr.)

I would also like to see an evolution on the Starmate. The C-15 had a small groove in the handle on the clip side. This helps when you open the knife with your left hand (as I'm sure you know). Just an idea.

Mine doesn't.

Not that I think it's really necessary on a Starmate, as the hole is readily accessible anyway.

I wouldn't buy an aluminium handled version, as when it's cold syntetics feel better, and this knife feels sturdy enough as it is (which I've heard the G-10 C15 doesn't, compared to the aluminium).
Nor do I feel a need for a reversable clip. (But yes, I happen to weakly prefer tip down.)

What I'd wish is what I usually wish for: A 25-30/75-70 serration (the 25-30%) pattern with the serrations near the tip. Perhaps also another colour.

For serrations near the tip, you could buy a plain one and get Mike T. to put serrations where you want them.

Paul,
That's a good suggestion! Mike Turber has the ability to add serrations to plain-edge knives, so that would work good! As for the groove on the clip side of the C15, I think it looks more like a "ramp". I have three G-10 combo-edge C-15's and one aluminum plain-edge, and all of them have the ramp. The non-clip side has a half-circle cut-out in the handle that sits where the Spydie hole in the blade is. There were left-hand variations made of the C15, and obviously, everything would be backwards from the above. I would like to see an aluminum-handled variation just to have something different. Titanium would be nice, too. After all, the "main man" (Bob T) makes knife handles out of Ti.

BTW, Griffon, your Spy/Terzuola website is really cool! As a gen-xer would say (not me, I'm older than that!)...it rocks!
