• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Start em young

I've read the hell out of the two David Darom books I have, and when I read about knife makers recalling what got them going, they cite their youthful renderings as being the beginning of their handiness as knife makers.

When I get up in the morning, I try to leave 20 to 30 minutes to spending time with my daughter before work. It means getting up earlier, and we often spend most of that time snuggled into the reading chair with David's books or the book Coop sent me about the history of bicycles.

I'm a big fan of indoctrination;) Turners or burners, right? Ha, just kidding:D. But seriously, it's amazing how your child can latch on to your interests. The goal is to keep those interests interesting.

I just had to take these pictures yesterday morning. I hope you like them.

Anyway, this is Quinn's first knife rendering. She likes the look of those pioneer period pieces, it seems:)

I agree with starting them young. My 15 year old step son is very interested in knife making and spends alot of time with me in the shop. He, with my help has produced 2 knives so far. My 11 year old step son is also interseted but not quite ready to take the leap and hammer one out yet. I can promise you my son, Joshua (4 months old) will have no choice ! LOL

Guys great stuff and beautiful children

With 3 daughters I kinda feel like a cave man

But I try to keep them involved with what I do

They certainly know where meat comes from and what knives and guns are for
