I'm really surprised there hasn't been a 2.7 excitement thread started yet. I didn't pre order one but I was excited to see another sub 3 inch blade from S! I was also happy to see it as a 'traditional' shaped fixed blade. I love my necker and necker II but I wanted to see something like the 2.7. I'm really hoping to get my hands on one sooner then later.

What's everyone's thoughts on this lil guy?

I'm excited! I have one on order and I'm anxious to see how it wears as a neck knife. Regardless, I'm sure it will be fun to use.

One thing I had been wondering though, is why such a small knife has the exposed pommel at the end. Why not just make it round like the end of the necker II? I'm sure there's a good reason and it may make more sense when I get it in my hand.

I've got one on order. Was struggling to get the 3.5 or the 2.7 and I have the 4.1 on order so I went 2.7

Really looking forward to it and I'll get to try the 20v since 3v wasn't offered on this one. :)

Still not sure if I would prefer the 3.5 more. I should probably order that one as well and sell one of them but I would probably end up keeping both...

I'll be wearing the 2.7 on my belt since I'm going to try to snag a Necker 2 second. Still checking the site multiple times daily for this...

I had the same concern. I opted to order a 2.7 and a 3.5. I figured if I don't like one or the other that I could probably find someone who would like it. I have not found a SURVIVE! knife yet that I did not like though. I hope to be able to carry one of them in leather pocket sheath. I like the idea of that even though I've never actually done it.

I am patiently waiting for mine! Just don't post much. I have a 3.5 already and it is a handy size, but I wanted the 2.7 as a pocket fixed blade. Something with a useable handle length and sufficient blade for edc chores. I don't like belt carry in the field because I seem to get caught on brush all the time. Or it gives the dogs something to target ;)

You all have the some great ideas for it. It'll probably be great for neck carry or pocket carry. I still have a Sharpshooter Sheath Systems leather pocket sheath the held an Izula 2 and a BRKT Necker perfectly so I'm hoping the 2.7 will fit.
The 3.5 won't fit this one but they did make bigger sheaths.

The 2.7 is a bit smaller. Nils made these great scale renderings.

Thanks standard! I'd completely forgotten about the side-by-side rendering of the 2.7 & 3.5. Now I'm so happy I ordered both and can't wait until I get them. I still believe the 3.5 will be the ultimate EDC fixed blade and can't understand why it didn't end up higher in the starter production order. :)

Aaaghhhh!

Reading things like this don't help me. Makes me want to go order a 3.5....

You're welcome and thank you at the same time! I'm surprised also because it can be carried almost everywhere legally as a one tool option for every day of the week.

Those renderings are so great and so helpful.

It's interesting how much fatter the 2.7 is at the bottom of the handle compared to the 3.5.

These renderings really helped me choose the 3.5 first but I'll definitely end up with a 2.7 no matter what. That is a good observation on the handles. I have no clue why but I'm sure there's a good reason!

Thanks Standard78 for sharing the visuals and especially thanks to ni1s for creating these side by side comparisons. Been thinking of jumping on the 3.5 but since I have a 4.1 on order, the 2.7 looks like a better option.

I would like to revive interest in this little functional tool. I've been searching for a fixed blade in this size range, one that can take a beating, keep a sharp edge and I can carry everyday without raising eye brows of the sensitive. Others are a little to flashy, a little to pointy, or don't seem like a strong enough steel. I plan on carrying it horizontal on my front left belt. Well here it lies, the gso 2.7.

It sure sounds like the 2.7 checks all your boxes! I'm definitely looking forward to this little guy as well.

The production order was set last Spring and at that point the 4.1 and 3.5 had been in recent production.
I think that people ordered more of those knives that had not been in recent production at that time.
Now it has been several months since the starter campaign closed and it seems like folks are ordering everything they can.

That's a great point I hadn't thought of! As someone waiting for a 3.5 for the wife, I was sad to see its apparent lack of love...but I think you might just be right. I did order two in the last run, I'm sure others did too

Yeah, that's a good analysis!

Also, heads up, preordering of 3.5 ends feb 29 per the latest production updates.

I am thinking about getting one of these to replace my 2.75" puukko. This is a great little knife but I have to constantly resharpen it. I believe it to be 1075 or 1080. I think the 2.7 would be a great EDC.
