Starting a Busse collection - Recommendations?

I think they ment be prepared to live off of Raman Noodles and beans for the rest of your life and walk because you sold the car to buy more INFI. :D

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I don't understand this sentence. Could you translate it to English for me??

ROFL!!!

If I didn't restrict myself, I would have hundreds of Busse knives . . .

. . . and I'd be pushing them down the street in my shopping cart mumbling things to myself, headed for that nice warm spot by the sewer grate for the night.:D

.

Welcome to a life of addiction and debt:D I love the NMFBM and NMSFNO. Also take a look at the BATAC for a mid-size knife that remains reasonably priced. In the end...by what you like and what you can afford:thumbup:

Welcome to the trough! Good luck with your collection. Try to work in a few users along the way, too, so you can appreciate what it's all about.:D

I'd suggest an AK (american kensei), a FBM (which you already have), a sabre SFNO (special forces natural outlaw) and an AD (active duty). They are my favorites. The ergos are really nice (I have 2) but most of them have atleast doubled in price and I have no straight handles because they've quadrupled or more from their original prices. I'd personally love a 1 of 300 SHBM but the cheapest I've seen one go for is $1100 for a user. Good luck and have fun!

One of the advantages of collecting BUsses is that they are all great quality and unlikely to lose much value. Their intrinsic value is high enough that you cannot go too wrong (in my opinion)
I think the only rule is to buy only those knives you love
sometimes buy what you really like
but never buy knives you don't like

My advise....

RUN!

Before you know it, you will have empty bank accounts. :p :D

Congrats on you Soul One score... and keep that original cardboard sheath too. ;)

That's really the way to look at it with any knife collection, not just Busses.

There are two types of collectors; those who collect knives they like, and those who collect knives other people like.

Having waffled back and forth between the two, I can tell you that *I* am a lot happier being the first type.

Try to find one knife every one inch between 3" blade and 11" blade, add in an AK and you have the basics covered. :D That will give you 10 knives and a solid collection that will fit (almost) every need. Then start working on the wants.

Only keep knives that you love.

Welcome aboard.

I think it is important to stay within your limits. Sometimes this can be tough, but try to limit yourself. It makes the ones you do get more enjoyable :thumbup:

I have 2 busses and one more on the way. Lots more id like though:)

RUN AWAY!
RUN AWAY!

The 2 that I think are must have's.
1) SH-1 = the first Busse Combat knife, early 90's
2) SHBM = the first INFI Busse Combat knife, late 90's

Good luck in your quest.

Yes, I must have them . . . too bad you can't find them, ANYWHERE!

Unless you have a few spares you would sell me.:D:thumbup:

Hello!!!!

j/k m8, even if you offered to sell them I couldn't afford them. Congrats man on having 'em  and don't sell them either...until I make it big.

I got my collection in the mail today. My collection of one (1) BWM :D
I`ve been looking, and waiting for some years, for BusseCombat to offer a fairly big, not to heavy, user knife. The perfect knife

And when the BWM met my eyes the first time, I instantly knew...
The handle looked perfect, and her body...so sexy:D:D:D

And today, when I for the first time touched her, felt her, in my hand...
I fell in love!

So, I am absolutely satisfied with my collection of ONE Busse, and have no intensions of letting that INFI addiction near me.

...that BOSS street looks like a good knife, hmmm?... :foot:

I am in the process of starting to collect Busse knives. I think they are incredibly well made and a functional work of art. I have procured 4 so far but I am curious as to what other, more seasoned Busse collectors feel are the ultimate Busse knives to have in a collection.

Also, do you recommend buying the new Busses as they are issued or just looking for particular ones on the second hand market. What do you think of other Busse knives such as the Swamp Rat versions? Again, this is for collecting. These knives will remain unused / unsharpened with the exception of 1 or 2 that I may use as functional knives.

Finally, how important is having the original Busse cardboard sheath when buying a knife for a collection?

I appreciate any constructive input.

HUH? I don't mean to be rude but WTF?

Either I been away too long, I'm too drunk, or I'm too damn old - Sorry Man

BTW - How much you lookin' to spend?:D
