Starting a Busse collection...

I'm not a collector in the normal sense, I use what I buy. I see no need to stare at something and wonder. Nor do I ask a collector about performance. But I do appreciate aesthetics. If it's aesthetics...Busse has no equal.

Like others here have posted, I too am new to Busse collecting. A few words of advice: 1) aside from a knife's condition, pay attention to the scales - tiger hide and snake skin in particular - are very handsome and take nothing away from the performance; 2) don't limit yourself to just big blades, nearly every Busse is big for its size; 3) don't limit yourself to just Busse Combat or Custom Shop as Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard have some very nice blades, even though they may not be as "collectible"; 4) there are many models of Busse knife models that will never see the light of day again from a production standpoint, but may be available from the Custom Shop at prices not out of line from the secondary market; 5) there are some great people on the Busse Forum here and many sell and trade knives for reasonable prices on the exchange - a great source for blades not to be found otherwise; and 6) no Busse collection is complete without at least one fatty ASH 1.

Nice collection Guy!!!!

What is the one between the Waki and FSH?

LOL, I was waiting for it, that question comes up every time on that pic.

That is the Blue Collar Camp Knife by Burt Foster, Mastersmith. Forged, with a very cool looking hamon. One of my prizes from Blade 09.

I like those pics guys. I also appreciate the advice. Resinguy, I like that you use your blades. I need to get out more. In reality it would be a slim chance if I ever used an AA. I legally conceal carry a Glock 20 with 165gr. loads traveling at 1500 FPS. Doubt I'd carry an AA for anything really. Now a MOAB. Me likely. :)
