Starting Benchmade Folder

Wow, thank you all for your suggestions, I haven't decided for sure yet, but I think I am going to go with the 551 griptilian, I like a lot of the other models, but the 551 has a more manageable steel, and a somewhat more affordable price.
I'm sure this won't be my last benchmade, so I will keep researching and looking into their models and hopefully be able to experiment and find my favorite. Thanks again guys
 
The Benchmade Griptillian is one of the best "all around" folders that I've found.
I would recommend it to anyone.
I had an old beater 555 for a long time. Just recently bought a new 551.
Great knives for the price.
However, I'm also a huge fan of the Spyderco Manix2.
Out of a few handfulls of higher end, and lower end knives, the Grip and Manix2 get my vote for great value, "user" knives.
Can't go wrong with either on in my opinion.
 
My favorite knife in my entire collection! I got mine for a REALLY good deal! They are discontinued but not really too hard to find. Great knife. To me, it's perfect! Can be had for about $150 in unused condition I believe (dont quote me on that)

That gravitator sure is a unique knife. Not sure I've seen anything like that before.

Anyway, I agree with the OP's choice of the grip. All I have to say on that is to get one of the colored handles because you will probably have lots of black handles down the road!
