My new camp is about 300 yards into the woods, (instead of 30). I got the green light from the owner of the property to build a shelter, tables, chairs, whatever I want..... I have big plans for my new bush camp.

This will be on-going, and I will try to update as I make improvements. Its going to be fun! Less than 2 minutes of video turned out. Something happened to my memory card, I have since replaced it.

Finding a patch of woods you can retreat to is a good idea. We have a spot in the woods on a family members farm. School is almost over for my boys so it is time to go woodsy.

Dude, my jaw dropped when I saw you really only had ONE LEG, guess I missed the memo, back to the topic, nice little plot of land there. More updates please.

Sounds great, looking forward to updates as you post them.

A permanent camp feels more like home than a camp made jus passin through. It's something you can build on over time.

Have fun with it, it's a great time of year to be in the woods.

Good stuff Josh. Look forward to seein the progress and snaggin ideas for my own camp. Thanks again for the sweet fire irons.

That is awesome that the owner is letting you have at it  definitely would be a dream to have a slice of wilderness to call my own. I think it's safe to say that I'm not the only one green with envy :D

what knife were you using? looked like a nessie style similar to the grohman survival.

That is the Model 5 Turley Branch, made by Turley custom knives. (Its on loan to me from a friend)

I am building a plywood/tarpaper hexayurt style shack this year up at my rough acreage. 10x10 or 12x12, never built one before, just been looking at plans on the web.

So is it your neighbor who let you use the land or did you just ask some random land owner, lol? Either way it looks like a great spot, I too am very jealous being a city dweller who's parks hardly even have any wooded areas:rolleyes:

It is my buddy's 25 acre "farm". I help him mow fields, push snow, clear trails, and watch his place and animals when he is away. In exchange; I can hunt, fish, or camp whenever I want.

I am a city dweller as well. This place is 25 minutes from mine.
