I started my winter wood cutting and my Buck Tool and dog went along for the ride. Both are handy to have while out cutting wood. DM

Good lookin dog David. I have all three buck tools, I've just never used them much. But yes there indeed handy.

Thanks Buckman. The dog is real smart and took to Bird training quickly. She's now pointing Quail and retrieving downed birds. DM

Great pic David. We cut a lot of wood when I was a kid. Even though ash was easier, I always enjoyed splitting hickory. What kind of wood is that?

Thanks Tony. It's oak. It is what we have the most of. This drought has taken a toll on our oak forest and we have lost most of our large, stately oaks. Rather than let them sit and rot, I cut them and heat our house with it. I'll let you come help me split it anytime you want. That's the 110 drop point, paperstone I'm wearing. DM

I thought the bark looked like oak. I've split my share of it as well. If I find myself heading southwest, I'll bring my maul axe.

Another. He uses my split oak as a chew toy and fetch :o I'd give u that big ole piece of red oak u see in the picture to the left David. But shipping would be outrageous! ! Lol

Tony, You come I'll treat you to some of my wife's goood Mexican food. After dragging myself home this evening, she fed me green chile stew. I feel better already. DM

buckman, After looking at your photos, I decided we have room for a dog like that around here.
It's real pretty there. Looks like you have some fruit trees out back. DM

He earns his keep that's for sure. He come up to the house this morning with a box turtle in his mouth. And has a rabbit living in his dog cabin as I call it. Its his buddy I guess.:D

No, I'll get one next time he does it. He brings them up all the time. He won't hurt/Eat them though. He will set it down and lay there and watch them walk around lol

It's so funny bc he is a huge pitt and Yet he's so gentle and fairly calm. Best dog I've ever had.

David, good to see a Husky and a Buck at your side. Husqvarna makes some excellent saws and Rifles.

I had a Husqvarna Mauser action in 30-06 and regret selling it...

Those buck tools sure are handy ;)

Doug, The saw has held up well, for what I put it thru. I haven't owned a Husqvarna rifle but have examined one and they are put together like a watch. Yes, the Buck Tool is handy to have when you may have to work on a machine.
Tony, it was for sure. DM
