I love my ZT 0562, I was looking at the 801Ti, 0456 and others. But I'm also looking to try different knife companies.

I prefer drop point, wharncliffe, and I'm okay with clip point. I prefer any lock type besides liner lock but I'm not opposed to it. I'm looking for a 3-3.5 inch blade, full flat grind or hollow grind, and the tip can't be delicate, for instance I really like the stout tip on the ZT 0562. Never tried Emerson, but I'm not really aware of any companies that compare to ZT. I've looked on here and google but every site says something different so I decided to make a new thread.

Ergonomically, the spyderco manix 2 and ZT 0562 are the most comfortable knives I've handled. In terms of handle materials, anything besides frn or other plastics.

Any ideas?

You could always check out Medford knives if you want something with a thick blade. :P

If you want to check out a different company that makes some good quality flippers, look at WE. Blade length might be an issue as most of their knives are closer to 4" and some designs are quite.... ummm.... unique. You might find the 605 interesting if your mainly looking for sturdy blade and comfortable grip though.

In the under $250 range in what you are looking for I think ZT is crushing it. The 801 and 456 are awesome knives and pretty much match what you want. If you are willing to go past that $250 range I think a Hinderer XM-18 3.5" is spot on what you would love.

Spyderco Slysz Bowie or maybe a sprint run Manix 2 or PM2 with M390 or S90V? With your criteria of FFG or hollow grind, 3.5" or less, and $250 or more, there are really not many choices. (Large Sebenza is too long while small Sebenza is too short, for you).

You could try a Grayman Dua or TSF Beast. Both are great knives for the $$ and I can't say which of the two I like better.

sharp_edge nailed it. Spyderco Slysz Bowie. I've had two...they are about the best thing that Sal Glesser ever produced. You can find them on the exchange, quite often, ANIB, for about $230. Would be my number one reco...and you will NOT regret it... (I thimk)

Great thanks I'll check both of those out now and let you know hat I decide!

I am going to suggest a knife that is a little obscure but is an absolute gem, it's the Steel Will, Mini Gekko. Awesome stout well made knife that doesn't break the bank. Mine is the 1551 in N600co but it is also available in
M390 and D2. Made in Italy it is a backlock with a stout 3.5" blade super sharp it can double as a bushcraft knife for those weekends. It comes with different scales and different finishes and if you you ever want something a little bigger they also make a 4" version which actually came out first. The 1550 series is 3.5" the 1500 series is 4" and the 1530 series is fixed blade. they also have other knives of which I own a few but they look more tactical. I will vouch for their fit and finish in both the Italian line and the Chinese line. I recommend that you look at their website and watch the reviews on YouTube. Good luck

Gonna have another vote for the Slysz Bowie.

It is by far one of the most pleasant knives I've handled. The fit and finish makes them works of art just begging to be used.

Steelwill Modus F25-71 will be released soon. It's available for pre order at. And it's 50 cheaper than your limit. It's carbon fiber scales, m390 blade and bearing flipper liner lock. Designed in USA and made in Italy. Should be out this month iirc.

Or Real steel megalodon 2017 in m390
This knife uses needle bearings and is well in your budget and is premium and made and designed in China. Blade is longer than what you mentioned.

The Slysz Bowie is a great knife too. Not as fun tho. It's great looking, great design, great quality and construction. I really good cutting machine and it has an action that is as good as more expensive pb washer knives. A slicer too. I only wish they made it able to spidie flick. That's my only gripe. Oh yea great steel.

I recently acquired a Boos Blades Smoke TS1 and if you can find one grab it. Front flipper with s35vn. Made by we knives. Check out my Instagram for vids. They only made a batch of 100 but have since re ordered and plan to make some other variations with better steel, or carbon fiber or even a more budget friendly version.

You guys know his "budget" is GREATER THAN $250 right?

The packman eats the larger number, in this case the price of the knife (vs $250).

ZT0456 can be something nice and different from your 0562

I really like the washer non flippers from ZT so a 0630 or 0550 are always good

Spyderco SLysz Bowie is great and I think it will be my pick unless you can for a sebenza or an Inkosi
The real CRK "flavour" is in the large models but my favorite EDC is a micarta insingo 21

If you don't have any axis lock, the 940-1 is great or a new griptilian with 20cv

Inder your budget a basic PM2 with s110v will not be a disappointement

Spyderco Slysz Bowie

sharp_edge nailed it. Spyderco Slysz Bowie.

Gonna have another vote for the Slysz Bowie.

The Slysz Bowie is a great knife too.

I will echo the above, very pleased with my Slysz. Quality, durability and class. Other than being a frame lock, it seems to tick your boxes.

Ergonomically, the spyderco manix 2 and ZT 0562 are the most comfortable knives I've handled.

Also, if thinking Manix, think Manix XL. That and the 0562 are my favorite work folders.

I absolutely LOVE my back lock Manix 2. Much more stout than the cbbl manix 2

Title specifically says less than 250 with references to no frn or plastic handles
No, sorry, that's not correct.

This is literally elementary math...

To state it another way: "the smaller end (the point) of the symbol always points towards the SMALLER number". In this case it points towards "$250" stating the knifes value should be GREATER THAN $250.

I just think it's funny people don't know basic math principals they teach in first grade.
Actually, thinking about it more I am mad, it's a disgrace to our country...

This isn't common cores fault, it isn't the governments fault or teachers or parents or bullies, blame falls on the individuals in this case. It literally takes 10 seconds to Google it.
