I'll second that one - I love my copper Spider Monkey...enough so that I've been considering getting the carbon fiber version for those rare occasions that I want a lighter knife.
I'll also throw in the Hinderer MP1, in case you want to spend a little more money. (I figured it was fair game, since Whitty mentioned the XM18)

I'd add the CKF SSE and Southard Tolk; but the blades are over your preferred length.

No, sorry, that's not correct.

This is literally elementary math...

To state it another way: "the smaller end (the point) of the symbol always points towards the SMALLER number". In this case it points towards "$250" stating the knifes value should be GREATER THAN $250.

If it makes you feel better on the correction.... you can have it dude :)

Funny the things I remember from school too many decades ago...

The hungry crocodile always eats the biggest thing. :D

Didn't know this would spark a butthurt competition. Simple mistake..I meant less than $250. So anything LESS THAN $250. I thought logically that >$250 would mean less than because the open part of the sign was going towards the left which would be a lower number on a number scale. Didn't know people would be so rude on here to eachother...

Anyways less than $250 is what I'm looking for

Less than $250, in the 3-3.5" range?
Southern Grind Spider Monkey.
The fact that I'm recommending this knife is significant, because I'm firmly in the 3.5-4" blade camp. Small knives don't generally feel right in my hand. It bears repeating that mine is the (no longer available) copper version - I'm not sure I'd be quite as enamored with the carbon fiber.
The 0456 is another "small" knife; but it fits my hand well.
Or, you could save some money & give the Benchmade Rift try. I've had the auto version for years; and recently picked up tee manual version... and my only regret is having waited so long to do so.

Have you already bought the 0200? If not, I would recommend the Kizer Intrepid or Kane, if you want something less mainstream.

Fair enough, no offense intended on my part.
I agree with hh that the 950 Rift is worth considering, very strong tip on it and I have used mine quite a lot and wouldn't part with it. Shame there isn't the steel options with it but I do like 154CM just fine.

I just think it's funny people don't know basic math principals they teach in first grade.
Actually, thinking about it more I am mad, it's a disgrace to our country...

This isn't common cores fault, it isn't the governments fault or teachers or parents or bullies, blame falls on the individuals in this case. It literally takes 10 seconds to Google it.

The Rift has been in my pocket more than I expected since I got it.
The 0456 is a great knife...but the big knife feel leaves me wanting a bigger knife, lol. Seriously, if there was a 3.5" blade version of this knife, I'd be all over it.
The 0808 is one I really wanted to love. I like it; but it somehow falls a little short with me...I can't really explain why.
The Spider Monkey - this is the one that gave the 0456 and 0808 a chance, for me. Prior to this one, they'd been set aside as "too small". I bought this one specifically because of the copper handles, figuring it would never get carried because of its size. Man, was I surprised when I realized how much I really liked it...I've been carrying bigger knives again; but I make a point of pocketing it every week, just BECAUSE I WANT TO

So many great knives in the $250 range. At that level of spend, does it really matter if it's $225, $275, or even $300? Wait and spend 20% more than budget for an EDC that meets your criteria - one that you'll enjoy rather than settle. For a new USA made in that price range, ZT flippers are hard to beat IMO.

True, just trying to keep it around $250, so honestly anything from 200-300

Oh so you did mean less than $250. I took it to mean $250 or greater. :P

Keeping my suggestion of WE knives, maybe check out the 703. Good budget version with simple yet deceivingly comfortable handles. Blade is 3.7", so a little bigger than you mentioned.

My two recommendations would be the manix 2 lockback($137) and the WE Knife Co. 703($100)

Both incredibly strong and great values. You can also get both since the overall is under your budget lol

These are some $200 - $250 knives that I have. I think you would be happy with any of them. Good news is that there are so many other good choices out there too.
- Southern Grind Spider Monkey
- Freeman 451 Button Folder
- Rick Hinderer Pallas
- Emerson Sheepdog
- DPx H.E.S.T 2.0 Folder
- ZT Sinkavich Titanium
- ZT 9801, 0620, 0900
- Viper Ten
- Kizylar Zorg

Some of these may be hard find under $250 but I didn't pay more than that.

Like I said, these are just the ones I own and like. There are many others out there.

Good luck.
