Starting to make some Folders

Here's a folder I just finished. Until now I've only "practiced" making them. I've made a half dozen proto's along with a couple Bali's prior to this one. Fine tuning techniques and mechanisms has been my primary goal until now. The frame and blade on this one were designed by Marcus Lin, the bolster and scale configuration was done by me. I've worked on quite a few different knife projects with Marcus  and look forward to more in the future. IMHO, he's a genious when it comes to knife design. The guy is not only an extremely good designer but also an acomplished knifemaker in his own right. Awesome even !! You might know him from the forums as Flatgrinder. I can't say enough good things about him !!
I want to add that I was just licensed to use IKBS in future folders I make, and will be unveiling and adding a new Lin designed Tactical style knife to my line-up in the next month or so. Thanks goes out to Flavio Ikoma and Rick Lala for being so gracious in sharing the IKBS technology with the knifemaking community. Thanks also to Duane Weikum for giving me the go-ahead, after inspecting a Bali I made using IKBS.

Here's the folder, along with the specs  I hope you like her ;) ............................

Seriously good job. By the way what is IKBS? I will loook it up but I just thought I would ask while I am here;)

;) Thanks Will

IKBS stands for Ikoma Korth Bearing System . It replaces the standard Teflon, Nylatron, or Phos. Bronze washers used on Folders & Bali's with Ball Bearings. There are many different ways of making the system work but most makers machine a race into the liners and use .062 hardened balls around the pivot pin. Its an ingenious mechanism, simple, rock solid and it can be adapted to many different applications. You can use smaller or larger balls, dependant on the application and size of the knife. When properly tuned it results in zero blade play, very little resistance and is lightening fast. It's been tested and proven to work in hard use, (potentially dirty) applications for quite a few years now, and IMHO, is a definate + when added to your folder specs
