You guys are probably getting sick of my Starved Rock journeys, but, here we are again. Was a nice 60° out, and a beautiful day. We were hoping the fall colors were peaking, but they were probably peaking last weekend. Oh well, was still pretty regardless. Lightened my Falcon II to 15-20 lbs this time, and worked out much better for me. Anyways, onto the photos:

One of the observation decks. It's kind of cool how they build them out over the edge, so you can look straight down:

Much of the same as last time, except this time we were able to do it along the trail:

Used my Brunton Raptor again. I brought another I wanted to try out, but the base that holds the bottle was too big. The Guyot wouldn't set on it right:

Brought my ESEE 3 as well:

We forgot to bring a cutting board, and something to use for plates, but my wife had a lid, and a bandana to use. More cheese:

Some kick ass bread. Called Sweet Wheat N Oats. Damn it was good:

More beef summer sausage:

And thinly sliced pear:

We made sandwiches out of it, including the pear slices. It was so damn good. Forgot to take photos of the sandwiches though:

Had another great day. Not sure how far we hiked, as it can be deceiving on the trail, but, we hiked for 5 hours. Of course, stopping to rest, take photos, and eat.

Wow man, awesome pics! Especially loved the cigar and the food pics, looks like it was an awesome time. Thanks for sharing!

Ahhhh, how I miss living back up North. Fall is such a beautiful season. And perfect hiking weather.
Down here in Florida it's just hot year round so we don't really have 4 seasons... We have summer and about 2 months of semi cold weather if we're lucky...
And as always, fantastic pictures!

Thanks guys, appreciate it. We had a blast. Heading for Kampsville today, hopefully the trees look awesome, then camping next weekend.

Hey Warrior.....

Wonderful post and pics.......lovely time of the year and it looks like a lovely time was had......You do good pics !!!!!!.....Nice composition with the 14 and the single leaf on old wood......Ver nice, ver nice indeed......

Ethan

Looks like your still in the peak of leaf season out there, it came and went like like a sneeze up here in the ADK's
Nice load of photos too

Thanks guys, appreciated. We had another good time out taking photos today as well.

My fiancee and I went there for an overnighter over the summer. We got lucky with some decent weather, but nothing like those autumn leaves in your pictures. Maybe another trip is in order if it's that pretty this time of year...

Awesome shots!

Man, that looks like a great place to wander around it, lots of nice color there! A little Baileys is always nice too, and the cheese and summer sausage looks great.

Thanks Cap'n, appreciate it. We're looking forward to going back. Although we've seen most everything, you sure don't tire of looking at the place.
