State of the Razor Address

All I know is, I look forward to a shave when using the DE method. The afterglow is significant too, job well done. Just how close can you go.....

I find that even a DE blade that many here would consider past its prime still gives a great shave if you do more than one pass... problem is when I change blades I need to bear that in mind or I end up usin' too much pressure.

I use a slim ajustable Gillette with Derby blades. I was happy with the blades from Walmart until I ordered the Durbies. Yes, they are noticably better. I've been shaving with a de for about 2 years now. I almost got hooked on the try everything wagon but after I read about how a single blade JEM gave such a great shave and tried one I stopped trying and believing most of what I read from the forums. I am thinking I may get a Merkur just to see if there is much of a difference between old and what is new for a razor. For soap I am settled on the VDH delux and for a cream
the Proraso from Bath and Body.

I don't use any pre-shave oils, BUT i do normally use a "kiss my face" 100% olive oil soap on my shave area of my face before i shave. I can tell a difference

Update:o I've been on a buying spree...sound familiar:D

I've acquired a '66 Slim adjustable, a '73 super slim adjustable (black beauty) and a Merkur Futur. Also got a couple of oldies I haven't used as well as a variety of blades including Derby and Feathers.

I'm amazed with the results...and yes it is enjoyable:thumbup: Only one shave into the Merkur so far, but I love all the adjustables I have so far. I'll update with some pics later on this week. Glad I stumbled on to this!

Well, I'm lucky to get 3 good shaves from Fusion cartridges before they tear my face up. That's why I' trying to find a good De razor for sensitive skin so I can make the switch.
