Status of Sambar Stag?

Is there a shortage out there yet? I have been working on a custom knife and thought it would be a breeze to order Sambar from Universal Agencies; they had tons of it at the Blade show last spring. I was told that they were completely sold out and could not tell me when they would recieve more. Where are you guys getting it these days?

has a source for Sambar Stag that is not in India, so seems pretty reliable....
I trust Joe and Cristi Culpepper and their folks.
It is worth a call to talk with them.

Here's another supplier: http://www.alphaknifesupply.com/barkbone.htm I really don't think there is a shortage of sambar stag. Seen lots of it at shows. The price has gone up about 3 times as much as what it was 6, 7 years ago.

He's got some nice stuff at a decent price, especially if you are looking for some
of the smaller tapers. What I like about Chuck's site is that you can view the actual
pieces.

I've also bought some (entire antler) from Elen Hunting and had some good
stuff delivered. Luca is a nice guy and he'll work with you.
