The kitchen knife thread got me thinking about what I need to replace.

Thankfully the list is pretty short :D

So what are you using for steak knives?

That thread got me thinking too, has anyone thrown out there steak knives and bought a matching set of Moras?

Normal steak knives here, but then I can cut my steaks with a butter knife. :)

When I think Steak Knives, I automatically think non-aggressive serration, in order to not dull the knife too fast on the hard plate. Thoughts?

Check out the Victorinox Forschner paring knives. I've been using mine for more that 5 years and never had a problem or felt the need to sharpen them.

Yeah they're great knives. Inexpensive and good quality.

i use cutco steak knives. awesome. love the sharpened serrations.
their straight knives are only ok but their serrated are great!

I usually use a Sebenza or a paring knife. Sometimes when I'm feeling squirrelly, I'll use a Military.

yup. unless you use wood or soft plastic plates, serrations really are key. Using a scandi ground mora on porcelain makes me shiver at the thought of what you would do to the edge...
