I don't go out to eat much. But when I do, I much prefer a good smorgasbord. I like piling up my plate with small amounts of a variety of foods, rather than one big chunk of steak or such. The best is brunch buffet at a quality restaurant. I go for one plate of breakfast items, then back for another plate of lunch items.

I also like trying various ethnic foods.

As for seafood, I've probably never had quality seafood, so I have no opinion. I enjoy a fresh-caught walleye though, does that count...:p

Depends on where I am. I usually go w/ whatever the place tends to specialze in. Having worked in a variety of restaurants, I like to go with what moves quickly through the place. I've seen stocks for less-popular entrees turn weird colors in storage & I've seen them get screwed up badly by staff who isn't used to preparing them. Don't order Egg Rolls in a Pizza joint. Any place called "Zorba's" probably does lousy Hunan Prawns.

Right on! Steak or seafood - yes please. :D

It depends on what I'm hungry for.
I love a tender steak with a nice zinfandel or claret, but sometimes there is nothing better than a grilled tuna with a Heineken!

Buddy of mine retires today, and I took him out yesterday for lunch. Got broiled crabcake. The restaurant is in the county surrounding Baltimore City, but I was just surprised at how good it was. I used to think G and M's on the southeast side of B-more was the best, then I got a really good crabcake at the Marina Deck in Ocean Crappy, thought that was the best. Yesterday, got a crabcake from the Windsor Inn, and it was the best one I've had yet. All crab meat.

One rule, never order seafood at a steakhouse or steak at a seafood restaurant. I have yet to find one place that can do both well. And I won't even consider "Surf 'n Turf".

Before I got the Gout, I was a real seafood pig (notice where I live...In spitting distance to the Pacific ocean), but now, I'll take a nice burnt on the outside, alittle pink on the inside, steak.:).

I'm going to have to go with steak.

Since my state isn't on the coast, sea food tends to be more expensive, not as fresh, and generally not well prepared.

I really don't like red meat much. I'd rather have anything else. Although after a few months I need blood, uh, red ... oh, hell, gimme a hamburger.

Seafood, fish, chicken or turkey, pAstA, salads, rice, PaSTa, vegetables ... did I mention PASTA? Noodles, too.

I lean more towards the steak. It just seems to go better with the draft beer sitting next to it on the table. :)

On the whole, I prefer seafood, but every so often I start lusting for prime rib of beef.
