I'm so tempted, but I just remember how every 501 I've owned had a lockbar that wouldn't be flush when closed. It would kill me to get one and have that issue.
 
Got my one.

Shipping options have changed on this new site. On the old one I could choose USPS or FedEx. FedEx was far and away the quickest option, for the same price. Usually under 1 week. Now I could only choose "Ground". We'll wait and see if that's how it ships. If so, it will take 3 to 5 weeks to get here.

When I saw the thickness of the blade stock of 0.095" (or thinness), I put one in my cart. Then I looked at the blade length for a while and . . . too small. I set the one in my cart free so someone who really wants it can get it.
 
I had wanted something a little larger than my 503. (My BCCI infliction really wants one of most 😂) A 500 is coming and this 501 will fit nicely between them. For those getting web errors, I got repeated errors of "upstream request timeout" and "THE PRODUCT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR CAN'T BE FOUND." for quite a while. But, it eventually loaded. (The web site just needs quite a bit of optimization or server upgrades in order to handle these spikes.)

I have a bunch of 501's and no complaints about the lock bar.
But, I will pass on the clip blade and the $$$$$.
I don't mind printing on the blades typically, but them glasses.
 
So I read the BCCI elk 501 sold for about $300.....?
I guess with all things said this price isn't out of line.
Are all magnacut knives so much more money?

I have 3 really nice 501s I never carry.

I just paid my property taxes, home insurance, and prepaid my propane for the year....
Sigh.

Magnacut premium is pretty much everywhere and since this is in collaboration with the guy who invented it I can see why.

Sure would be nice to see prices come down a bit but it's still the new hotness and inflation isn't helping us at all either.
 
I snagged one! I’m stoked and it’s my birthday lol. This is a great little knife that will be my dress / Sunday go to meetin knife. I really like everything about it and the sheath is frosting on my birthday cake lol. Thanks Dr Larrin and Buck for making a very special knife!
