You probably know I am collecting it.The majority of my purchases are intended to be users.
Last count of over 300 knives, there's definitely some that just don't get used.

Wait! What?!? This sounds like a fantastic hobby. Do you just use a belt sander? I'd love to see a standard brass/ebony Buck that's been thinned down.Although some of us have been thinning Buck 110/112's for years, this represents a monumental step for Buck.
I'll carry mine,as I'm not hard on a knife.I use it as a cutting tool and nothing more.420HC would have made it more affordable. Profit margin on MagnaCut must be good. Not in hand but while attractive the pocket clip looks too small for active use. The collector in me says to buy it but my wallet is doing a butt clench because I've spent a bit much recently on my habit. Will probably break down.
I'm curious, how many view this as a collectable vs how many will actually carry and use it at this price point?
When the S30V 110 Slim Pro TRX can be purchased for $75 (with discount) does this knife bring $150 more to the table as a user?
So...you see half the wood and twice the price....It's interesting, but I can't see $225 there. I'm over the Magnacut thing. Other than that, it's a standard 110 that's had a run-in with a belt sander and has had a belt clip stuck to it.
I'll post some pictures. My brother has done many but I've only done two.Wait! What?!? This sounds like a fantastic hobby. Do you just use a belt sander? I'd love to see a standard brass/ebony Buck that's been thinned down.
I was just going to say it should be half price.So...you see half the wood and twice the price....![]()

I can't answer that but my 111 doesn't have the "glasses" logo either.I wonder why it doesn't have the 'glasses' logo?
I think that other release was specifically a collaboration with Dr. Larrin/KnifeSteelNerds. This just happens to have magnacut.I wonder why it doesn't have the 'glasses' logo?

Gotcha, thanks.I think that other release was specifically a collaboration with Dr. Larrin/KnifeSteelNerds.
Being an engineer geek type, I had to do some measurements. Buck says this one is 0.375".
110 Slim Select: 0.4"-0.425" depending on where the measurement is taken;
110 Slim Pro Plus: 0.394"
112 Slim Carbon Fiber: 0.363"
So...it's pretty skinny. I'm tempted. I only own one knife I paid over $200 for, so it's pushing my knife price comfort zone. If it was a 112 with 420HC for $65-$70 I'd already have ordered it.
I'm with you! The 560 is slim, lightweight and pretty darn cool.I'm back to carrying a 560 primarily and this would certainly compete.
The specs for the 110 Slim Elite say 5.3 oz. A standard 110 is listed as 7.3. 110 Slim Pro TRX is 3.3 oz.Did they list a weight for it as well? How does it compare to?
My mission is now complete.Well, I don't know what I was thinking when I said this was a pass. There was no way I could resist getting one, even at this price. It was this post that did me in. One on order!
