I'm looking to buy my first Busse. I've considered the Basic line but when I look at the best price I can find on the basic 7 or 9, I could add approx $100 and go ahead and get either the SHII or BM.

So this is my dilemma, what should be my first Busse?

It would be 6 months+ before I could afford another so I'm just undecided as to which one.

About the only use it would see would be on camping trips I take with the wife and 4 kids, and the blade would be taken along in the car for your basic camping/utility chores. Other than that it would be a toy.

Thanks

Walter

I really like the Basic line. But if you can swing it pick up a Steel Heart II.

I'd go for the SH II. I've got a #7 now and they size is almost the same. It's easier to carry and use than a 9" or 10" knife, but is still capable of chopping. I've been doing a chopping test with my new Livesay RTAK and one of the things I've discovered is that as good a chopper as a 10" bladed knife is, it's pathetic compared to an axe, hatchet, or saw. If you've only got one tool to take period, then I'd recomend a big knife (BM), but if you're going camping the extra weight of a folding saw or hatchet will be negligable. Just my opinion.
