Steel identification

Ray, is it from a blade similar to the large one you had before? Seems like the grain pattern is longer in this one.

This newer blade was a little smaller. About 24" across and the teeth were part of the blade unlike the inserts of the first blade. The pattern is going to be different threw out the blade since the steel is rolled out like a pie crust. The spark of the newer one compaired to the little I have left of the older one looks identicle. Real simular to 1095.
 
Neat stuff, Ray. Any idea about the age of the sawblades?

Mike, I haven't a clue. I had taken a trip to Fairly Honest Mike's Secondhand on several ocasions so I knew of the old saw blades for months. I ended up offering him a 100 bucks for all the old circular saw blades he had and he jumped at the offer. Now I'm thinking about doing the samething again. Do I need more steel? No......
