Hello all, new to your forum. I'm finally getting beyond just collecting pretty knives to studying the materials they are made of. I'm finding it pretty easy to find the pluses and minuses of various knife blade steels, but I got to wondering about another aspect, Prices. I thought perhaps custom knife makers who buy various steels of about the same quanities could put it into perspetive for me. Like price per pound.

The usual suspects, used in production and custom blades. ATS34, 440A, 440B, 420HC, 154CM, S30V, BG42, 1095. The basics, nothing extraordinary.

My Thanks,
Pam

www.admiralsteel.com has competitive prices, and carries most, if not all those steels. If you go to the website, and click on "Blade Steel Online Store", you can see them all.
