Steel supplier

I was planning on ordering a big sheet of O1 precision ground from them. They have every size you could want just about. I would have ordered already but the price makes me wonder if it is of dubious quality.

Ive been buying from Amteksteel for over a year now.

Great company and prices, have yet to get/find O1 cheaper.. will be ordering some A2 soon. There once was an issue with a delivery, I ordered a couple sticks of O1 in 1/8" and a couple in 3/32, usps destroyed the end of the box, one of the sticks was missing and the others were bent about 10 degrees 12" from an end.. The company let me keep what I received and shipped me a replacement order no cost.. win win for me :)

When I order the steel is drop shipped from their suppliers one order came from Penn. the other came from Marshall steel in Ind. I think

I've used a fair amount of O-1 and A-2 from Amtek. I think it has all been from a domestic mill.

How much does shipping typically cost? I'm in Ohio. It doesn't look like you can calculate shipping on the website.

Personally curious about the A6 steel. Haven't seen that for sale before.

Huh, I might have to try these guys. Just recently had a bad experience from a popular steel supplier, so it’s always nice to have another option. Nowadays it’s pretty much the norm to send out steel that’s bent up like a piece of bacon and twisted. Accompanied with the line “if you’re a knifemaker, you gotta be able to straighten best steel.” Because shipping you warped bacon steel wasn’t enough, they have to sprinkle some condescending remarks about your capability as knifemaker. Lol
