I Posted this on the virginia thread, but someone suggested posting it here. Anyone know a supplier of the proper steel for makign a knife? i was thinking 1084 Steel or 440c Steel or even 5160?? But im thinking about speaking with a local steel company see if i can get scrap free. im looking for something cheap! first knife from scratch cheap

All the steel suppliers ship to VA. The charge for a piece from Texas is the same as one shipped from Richmond.
