Steel Tariffs? Should we be stocking up?

Ok, first off, I do not want to start a political debate here!
Looks like there will be a new 25% tariff on imported steel. I know most everything I use is imported.
Does anyone know if this will apply to the carbon/stainless we use in knife making?
Do any of our steel types come from American mills?
Does anyone need an excuse to put in a big steel order?

IF, it even happens, I don't think it will greatly affect our steels.

Thanks! I'm more concerned with raw material prices than the effect on finished blade prices though.

I think it will most likely affect structural steels used to make buildings and bridges.

There are existing tariffs on many blade steel alloys now.

The new tariffs are going to include stainless steel. We move about 1000 tons a week where I work and customers are already having knee jerk reactions to the possibility of a price increase. China's already turning barges around at the port to come home. This is including non-ferrous material.
That said I don't know if it will effect the price of blade steel.

Can just talk for myself, but for me the bladesteel is one of the smallest cost factors in building a knife.

That’s right becaus I add 2.5x material cost to the pricr so than means my knife goes up what 62.5%

True, and I'd rather keep it that way. 25% is quite a hike IF it happened.
