Does anyone have a good source for .020 wall thickness steel tubing? Usaknifemaker has been sold out for months and I can't find it anywhere else.

I think USKM needs to hire another inventory tech.

Anymore, I've just been checking Amazon.com for most of my more common supplies. Search 1/4 OD, .020 wall stainless tube and you should find something.

Ain't that the truth! I went there today to try to order a bunch of common supplies and nearly every single thing I need is out if stock. I really hate having to order from 3 different places and pay all of that shipping cost.

I emailed Tracy about a year and a half ago, as things were much the same then (although not nearly this bad), and I seem to recall that he had mentioned having just hired somebody for helping to improve all of that, among a hand full of other long term fixes. Unfortunately, it seems to really have only gotten worse.

Now I think they are building a larger warehouse at the moment, which I'm sure is exhausting a lot of different resources, but hopefully when its done they'll try to get back on the ball about some of this stuff. In the mean time, I don't even bother to look there anymore. It's a shame, as they used to be a one stop shop for just about everything... now you're lucky to find one thing you need.

I feel your guys pain, its aggravating having to order supplies from several different places.Another thing that gets me is ordering certain handle bolts like loveless and corby bolts. It seems like everyone is always out when you need them..
heres some but I think its welded and not seamless..though ive used welded before and the weld was not noticeable even when flared on mine but I cant swear it would all be like that. Im guessing since you want 0.20 thickness your wanting to flare it?.

I agree, wish things were I stock better but they do have great customer service so I try to support them as much as I can. Yes I want it for flaring, the dang stuff, thanks Kentucky, I have looked on Amazon but never found that!

have you checked out brake lines? I have both thick and thin wall ss that I got from a place that sells brake supplies.

I get the stainless steel tubing for my flared tube rivets from Grainger. Never had it not be available, and I think it's cheaper too. Been very happy with the resulting rivets.

Gentlemen, I hear you and I appreciate the feedback.

I am working hard on this and could give you an extensive laundry list of steps I have taken to get this improved but that would come off as excuses. We still have over 7,000 items in stock every day. We just need it to be a little better than that. Customers want it instock when they want it, period. I get that. To make a a long story short, I was working to develop a general manager and it just didn't work out. I have taken back over every part of the business including replenishment and it's going to stay that way.

If you need something taken care of contact me directly at tracy@usakms.com or give me a call here at the shop.

Thanks for your business.

McMaster has a pretty big inventory of tubing and rod I usually get it in four foot lengths . It comes to me pretty much next day every time , Even though that's not how I order must be nearby to me or something.

Tracy, you guys have always been super great, I hope this doesn't reflect negatively on you or your business. Guys, I would recommend usaknifemaker any day! Super fast processing times, they have a ton of inventory, and their customer service is amazing. I once got a Ferro rod that was all pockmarked so I called them and they refunded me the money, didn't ask for a return, no questions asked. They are super helpful on the phone and if something is out of stock the will call you when it comes back in. Also, I love getting steel from them because it is always an eighth inch over sized on the width which is very convenient. They also have tons of tutorials on a lot of their merchandise on their website. Don't want this to turn into a customer complaint thread because I am very happy with usaknifemaker and will continue to order from them. Gonna pick up an evenheat from them pretty soon here!
