O-1 is easy to find. All of the industrial supply houses such as Wholesale Tool, J&L, MSC, Graingers, etc. carry it. you may also find D2 and A2 as well.

Travers Tool Co., Inc. is having a sale on O-1 right now. I just got a new sale notice and it's in there. You can get a 1/8 x 1 x 18" piece for $5.49

That's awfully inexpensive practice and a good steel to start with. Many makers still use it long after learning the trade.

I received a small catalog from Nolan Supply (800) 736-2204. It shows O-1 @ 1/8" X 1" X 18" for $4.99. The # is 54002F. The 36" piece is $9.59 # 54301F.
