Steel?

All of my Schrades are carbon steel. I just ordered a Senior Rancher through the mail and was wondering what exactly is Schrade+ steel? 420 series?
 
Some time ago I did some looking and asking around, what I´ve been told is that yes Schrade+ is 440A, and the non-stainless is 1095.

I like both steels, been carrying the same premium stockman since 1976.
 
The last time I was at the factory (Schrade) I asked for some information regarding the types and propertys of the various steels Schrade uses. I was given a copy of a chart which I am attaching. I believe the answers you have been given regarding the types used are correct. Unfortunately my knowledge in this field is quite limited.I hope the chart helps in some respect. LT. P.S. In fact I just upgraded to a gold membership so that I could attach pictures and I hope it works.
