Thanks!! Yes it should be fun! It has non-magnums but if I find they are too small, I can always send it in for the Magnums!

It took a little trading and a bit of cash, but got it done!

I feel that the FFBM is safe. Although faster my ASH-1 did not compare to my FFBM in chopping ability. And since we are comparing an SH to the Mistress I felt that chopping was the appropriate metric.

I use my mistress like she is a naughty machete and other than a light ceramic strop I haven't had to do a thing to keep her edge. Even a chunk of concrete was shrugged off.

The above branch was hit with no great effort using primarily the momentum of the knife.

Apologies for the hijack... BUT, jon-A, what kind of ceramic strop do yuo use?
Back on topic... If I have to choose one knife, I always go big. I remember Bill Bagwell once telling me a big knife can always do the job of a little knife, but never vice versa... I guess that advice has always has stuck with me.

AHA there are flaws in drinking and typing. Cheap ceramic rod. I spent the day fighting with a knife that I was trying to convex and was thinking about that while I was typing.

Yeah I really like the way they look! The FBM is just a little big for my desires... so, having thever held one of these, but having had SFNO LE's.... I am pretty sure this is "The One" for me.

I am thinking that this and my BAD will be a good team of keepers.... with others to be added later (or sooner).
