steels?

what is the preferred steel for hawks? i was eyeing one on ebay thats made from 4140 hardened to 58rc but i dont know whats good for hawks. i do know it will probably be a bit softer cause your gonna be hacking through things.

L-6 and 5160 are great! I love L-6 as it is super tuff stuff.
