He didn't just back out of a deal (which happens, is unfortunate, but is forgivable)... he jerked you around (which SUCKS!!!)
 
I didn't jerk him around I agree I backed out I apologize.
I have the oppertunity to work this weekend on a side job and said
I would buy the knife if it was still avalible. Like I said Ren

But... if you said the money was in the mail when you didn't really send it, then you lied... and that's jerking him around.

I have had allot of good trades and
deals on BF. This is the first bad deal and I
have learned a good lesson so it will be my last.
I won't comment on anything I've done good for
people on BF not that many but I think it outweighs
the bad. I don't have a copy of the e-mails we traded
(Ren and I) I didn't think I had said it was in the mail maybe I did.? Like I said my mistake If Ren would like to kick me in the nuts he has the right, and I'll take it like a man.I still belive I owe Ren something not sure what I can do but I don't want to be on the Phoo list of the Devils Trail Boss.

How can you not remember if the check was in the mail or not? Are you saying you may have told him that believing you sent a check out? I for sure would remember writing a check to someone and putting it in the mail. Sounds like your a liar!

But if you hang out here long enough, and if you have a pulse, certain 'things' are gonna happen...

A: You're gonna need to raise cash...for another knife, to pay off a knife you've committed to, for rent, baby pablum, or 'whatever'...

B: You're gonna 'claim' a knife that you can either ill-afford, or have over-extended on...

C: Something out of your control is going to happen, and you'll need to back out of a deal...

These things all happen, and they happen to all of us...if it hasn't happened to you yet; give it time, it will...

Ren knows this, steelswing knows this...and you and I know this (cuz I just told ya, as if ya didn't already know...)

The bottom line here is to just let the seller know ASAP (ASAP!) if you can't make the deal happen...as it's better to just be up-front, than it is to dick around, to make up stories, or to take in a knife that you really have no need for...

It's even better yet to think over the sale, for as long as it takes for you to 'be sure', (even if it means passing up a knife), than it is to commit to something you can't come through on...

Again, it'll eventually happen to all of us...and it's better to 'eat the crow', come clean, admit your mistake, and press on...than it is to keep up an unsustainable front...

Make you sale/trade offers wisely guys...a few 'didn't come through' notices here, and you'll be more done than Grandma's week old Thanksgiving turkey! ;)

Also thanks To Mel, Tombstone and Ren. For understandig. I never ment to do a bad deal and it is wheighing heavy on me' because I let my deal with Ren down not because some choose to call me names. I have to deal with my conciouse. names dont mean a thing

Ease up on Steel. Things happen. He admitted he messed up and apologized to Ren and Ren accepted. End of story.

I, for one, give the buyer the the benefit of the doubt in matters like this. If the buyer reneges on a deal, no biggie, I move on. Which is exactly what Ren did. Would I post on the GB&U about it? I doubt it. I didn't lose money and I still have the knife.

So file this one under "Lesson Learned".
 
Ill vouch for that..Steel has apologized profusley..like I said no big deal. I as far as transgressions go..this one is forgotten with no carbon copy...as a matter of fact..considering the circumstances..hes off the pooh list. The guy even went as far as to offer me gift certificates to a Resturuant. alls well that ends well.

It helps I'm off the Phoo list. I did learn a big lesson.
