Hey everyone, I just picked this up in trade for my Devastator, and now I have a RJ Martin Q36 in my sights, and now I just need some funds.....
This is a collaboration between Ken Steigerwalt and Matt Lerch. The parts, blade and handle were done by Matt Lerch, and the grinds and final assembly were handled by Ken Steigerwalt!
This knife was recently taken to production by Benchmade, so if you are a BM fan, this is a sweet piece to add to the collection!
The only info I have found on this knife is from the ACK website, where they were sold.....
It is overall almost exactly like a Sebenza.... A hair longer in the blade, and a bit thinner in the handles. It is nice and lightweight too, the handles are milled out to house the assist mechanism. The inside of the frame has two integral ti "springs" connected by a roller. The roller sits on the tang of the blade the whole time, and flicks the blade into place faster than most of my autos...... The whole idea was to reduce stress on the mechanism, and there are no springs to wear out, so its a foolproof design. I was never much of a fan of assisted knives, but this one has made me a believer that there are good methods to make A/O's work well, and for a long time to come....
I am in a bit of a rush to sell, as I need to make a fast move on the Q36. The knife is new as I received it, and I have flipped it a few times, and put it back in its case.
These sold for $595, with CPM154 and havent been available for quite some time.
I am looking for $575, Paypal preferred, shipped to your door.
Email is the fastest form of communication for me, so reach me at rangerover_95@hotmail.com
I will consider trades, but am really only looking for Martins, Beggs, and other custom folders in the same style.....
Cheers!!!
There is a little oil on the lockbar..... Didnt notice it until it was on the screen...
These are a couple shots of the A/O mechanism.....
Centered blade
Couple of compairison shots....
There are a couple more photos below, that are thickness compairison shots...
