Steiner Admiral Binoculars, 7x50, 1980s vintage.
I purchased these binoculars directly from Steiner back in the mid-1980s. At the time, I believe these had the highest light transmission of any binoculars sold. If I remember correctly, the light transmission was 97%, perhaps someone more informed can chime in.
I attended the last National Rifle Association meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, and I spoke with one of the staff at the Steiner booth. I told them what binoculars I had and their comment was along the lines of these were the finest binoculars you could buy at that time. The view is razor-sharp and there is no distortion anywhere in the field of view.
These are clearly marked "Made in W.Germany". And, they have a lifetime warranty per Steiner, regardless of original owner.
I am unsure if the strap and bag are Steiner manufactured, since these are more than 30 years old, but I am positive that they came with them in the same box. These binoculars are in near new condition, they have not left my home, they have spent their life sitting in the case and on a bookshelf in my bedroom, occasionally used to glass the woods and watch the crows and the white tailed deer. As you can see in the photographs, there is not a mark on these, the glass is flawless and any marks that you see are dust.
The rubber armor was occasionally rubbed with a protectant, there are no cracks or defects.
The price on these nice binoculars, shipped to you is $300.00. PayPal is fine, but you pay the fees or gifted. I will entertain reasonable offers.
I have almost 900 positives on eBay, as well as many here and on other sites. Please email me for any additional views you would like, or any additional information.
Thank you.
