Gentlemen:
For your consideration is my Battle Bowie design in 1095/Desert Ironwood. The full dress model of this bowie is featured in the Jan/Feb 2014 issue of Knives Illustrated. I made this for the fella that wants a hard use outdoor bowie that he can maintain looking like new after the season is over. In order to get the cost down, no hamon or exhibition grade wood on this model......I normally charge $700 for the fancier grade now, which is still a bargain as stated in the KI article. The blade was flat ground to .040" then given a convex edge stropped to nine micron - it will tree-top hair. The blade has a working 220 grit satin hand rubbed finish and the bottom of the ricasso is rounded so the user can comfortably choke up on the blade. The straight subhilt provides secure purchase and is comfortable while chopping - the handle will fit your hand like a glove. No sheath yet so you may specify a southern style under the belt model or one that hangs from the belt (R orL)I hope you like it! The first "I'll take it" gets it. $550 delivered CONUS. Paypal preferred to tksteingass@frontier.com. Thanks for viewing my work and comments are welcome.
