Gentlemen:
For your consideration is this Presentation Grade Combat Dagger in W-2 with hamon. The design is my interpretation of the Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife and the V-42 Stilletto......sort of a cross between the two. I chose the full tang construction as the basis for the design - the originals were hidden tang. The hollow grinds were ground on a 2" wheel and taken to 1200 grit prior to etching to reveal a nice hamon line. The tip of the dagger is convex ground to be robust to increase penetration.......this was done on short Samurai swords used for close combat to penetrate armor. The hollow grinds were taken to .010" prior to sharpening with 220 grit. The neutral balance is behind the guard where it should be. The English Walnut has lots of marblecake and I think walnut was the right choice for this fighter. I haven't made the sheath yet so the buyer may specify right or left. I hope you like it! The first "I'll take it" gets it. $475 plus $22 shipping. International shipping will require additional postage. Paypal preferred to my account tksteingass@frontier.com. Maker's common sense warranty and free sharpening.
