Gentlemen:
For your consideration is a new hunter design I call the Mountain King. The blade is not really a dropped hunter - the spine has the characteristics of a bowie while the cutting edge has main hollow grinds and enough belly for skinning. The main grinds were ground to about .020" and 20 degree bevels applied - it's deadly sharp and designed to dress out and skin equally well. The scales are exceptional Koa with tight curls and glistens with the chatoyance that Koa possesses. The handle is quite comfortable and different I think. Even though the stock is .260" at the ricasso, the deeply tapered tang and deep hollow grinds up to the spine place the neutral balance correctly behind the guard, as you can see from the photo of my crusty, beat up knifemaker's hand.
The blade was hand polished to 2000 grit and etched to reveal a vivid hamon line. The solder joint for the pinned guard is even with no pinholes. The knife is surprisingly light in the hand considering the blade height and stock thickness. Superb fit and finish. I hope you like it! The first "I'll take it" gets it. $350 plus $19 shipping/insurance......international shipping will require additional postage I'm sure. Paypal payment preferred to my account tksteingass@frontier.com. Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.
